When it hits close to home…

By Tracey • Feb 2nd, 2008 • Category: Pan Massachusetts Challenge

When I signed up to do the PMC this year, it wasn’t a matter of deciding “if” I would do it, but a matter of when I would trigger my training and fundraising.

Tracey’s PMC Experience

By Tracey • Sep 30th, 2007 • Category: Pan Massachusetts Challenge

Brian wasn’t kidding when he said saddle sores - During the first weekend in August, we rode 300 miles in three days across the state of Massassachusets. What a ride!

We Did It! …and we learned something…

By Brian • Jul 31st, 2007 • Category: Pan Massachusetts Challenge

So this is it. This Thursday afternoon, Team B3C begins the long ride across Massachusetts. I know we said we were starting this grand adventure on Friday, not Thursday, but a very interesting thing happened to us over the last couple months that made us change our plans.

I stumbled across these lyrics in my search for background music for our next video. Thought I’d share them here, they are powerful.

Eileen: The Garden Saved My Life…

By Brian • Jun 26th, 2007 • Category: Features, Pan Massachusetts Challenge

Brian’s NOTE: We all have someone in our lives, or know someone who has been touched by Cancer. Meet my mother, Eileen. This is her story…

I am 64 years old. Starting at age 50, I had annual and sometimes semi-annual mammograms, so I was taking the prescribed precautions. Never did I think I’d actually be celebrating the anniversary of my cancer diagnosis. I am 2 years cancer free, this July 13, 2007.

PMC Heavy Hitters’ Dinner in Boston

By Paul • Jun 7th, 2007 • Category: Pan Massachusetts Challenge

Carla and I went to the PMC Heavy Hitter (HH) dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston last night. It was great to be in a posh hotel eating great food, drinking FREE booze, and socializing with our extended PMC family. It was also nice catching up with the people I’ve ridden with over the years. My hope is that the Big Blue Bottle team will be there next year. We’ll be there if we can hit our $20K mark.

The “C” Word.

By Tracey • Apr 12th, 2007 • Category: Pan Massachusetts Challenge

The “C” word hurts. Do you realize that out of every group of people you know, half will have cancer at one time in their lives? Half. That number is way too large. Now if those odds were in favor of winning the lottery or having a promotion at work, few of us would object. But with those odds, I bet each of you reading this entry either have had cancer or know someone who did. Isn’t that staggering? Heck, I can name about 6 people that I know who have had cancer and the list grows when you get beyond my immediate family and friends.

Why I Ride…

By Tracey • Mar 20th, 2007 • Category: Pan Massachusetts Challenge

For those of you who know me, planning to ride a bicycle across Massachusetts (the long way across) is something I will enjoy. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my summer than training to ride long distances on a bike. For those of you who haven’t met me, some would say you are lucky! Riding my bicycle is a passion for me – plain and simple. It is a part of who I am. But another way that I enjoy spending time is through the work that I have done in searching for a cure for cancer.
