Warning! Don’t look out the window!
By Brian • Feb 1st, 2008 • Category: FeaturesYou did it, didn’t you? I knew you would. If you are living somewhere in New England, or any of the Northern States, chances are that you are seeing the same thing I am: Cold, Wet, Depressing Weather. It’s pretty difficult to find the energy and motivation to train and eat right during these cold winter months. Our natural tendency is to try to hibernate. I have spent far too many winters sitting on the couch flipping through channels looking for good bike race re-runs, just to find some excuse to hop on the trainer and get my sorry butt in gear again (no pun intended).
If you are like me though, the hardest part seems to be just getting started. Once you are moving, you remind yourself why you enjoy biking, and the indoor confinement becomes at the very least tolerable.
Why do I say all this? Just to try to keep you all motivated. For us at Team B3C, we have one VERY big reason. We have 300 miles to ride again this summer, and we are going to need all the time in the saddle we can find. We’ve already started. So pop the latest episode of your favorite television show into the DVD player, or get jacked into your iPod, and strap yourself to your bike trainer. It’s been a cold winter, but there are a LOT of roads out there waiting for you come Spring (which, by the way, is JUST around the corner!)
